** What You Will Do*

* The Operations Specialist for Utilities & Infrastructure (UI) Division will work within the Reinvestment and Modernization (RM) Group on the Efficiency, Conservation, and Optimization (ECO) Team. UI is responsible for maintaining and operating all the Laboratory's utility systems including electric, gas, sewer, steam, water, traffic infrastructure, transit operations, and open space. UI has a strong teamwork culture, great people, and is known for high quality work.

** Operations Specialist 1 ($60,500 - $93,600)*
* The selected candidate will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and ensuring execution of the utility metering and EV charging programs in close coordination with the assigned Integrated Project Team (IPT), system engineers, and operations staff, as well as other subject matter experts (SMEs) across LANL. The selected candidate will report to the Efficient Buildings Coordinator within the ECO Team, working closely with the Water and Energy Leads to ensure the metering and EV charging programs operate efficiently.
This position will work to support DOE's national security, science, energy, and environmental management mission. We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic early-career candidates with strong time management, problem-solving, communication, and team-building skills. The selected candidate's responsibilities will include:
+ Operate and maintain EV charging and metering programs
+ Maintain a list of all manually read and automatically read meters and update as needed
+ Ensure all automatic meters are reporting accurately and troubleshoot for possible issues
+ Ensure all metering data is collected within the metering dashboard and updated each month
+ Point of contact (POC) for all metering and EV charging related questions and concerns
+ Assists in the development of plans for and direction of implementation of the metering program and EV charging infrastructure
+ Support the project manager and team assigned to the installation of new EV charging stations
+ Performs routine facility or area walk-downs, procedure reviews, inspections, and/or evaluations to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the metering and EV charging programs
+ Assists in preliminary inquiries and information gathering into abnormal metering or EV charging events and occurrences and the development, implementation, and documentation of corrective actions for identified systems and equipment deficiencies and failures
+ Documents and integrates responses and remedial recommendations for the metering and EV charging programs
+ Works with experienced IPT professionals and SME's to ensure the continued progress of the metering and EV charging programs
+ Assists in outward facing communications about metering and EV charging project status and risk to management or DOE stakeholders
+ Coordinate and communicate project/program status in the form of presentations, verbal updates, and written reports
+ Assist with or oversee asset management activities, including tracking, maintaining, and optimizing physical and digital assets as needed within the metering/EV programs
+ Works to assure safety and security compliance, making safety and security an integral part of every task

** Operations Specialist 2 ($80,400 - $127,900)*
* In addition to what was outlined at the lower level, at this level the Operation Specialist will perform all the described tasks but will also be asked to:
+ Work to advance the metering and EV charging programs by streamlining processes and procedures and keeping up to date on technologies related to both in order to maximize efficiency
+ Create Facility Service Requests (FSR) for meters that are not working properly and follow up with the proper organizations to ensure timely maintenance
+ Perform periodic reviews and assessments to ensure metering and EV charging systems are operating properly and are being maintained within required limits
+ Ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and compliance for projects within the metering and EV charging programs
+ Performs diverse support or program functions in conjunction with or in support of operational programs compliance, cost and budget, planning and scheduling, training, special projects, or related areas
