Compa Industries is searching for qualified candidates for an OSS 4 position at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) supporting the ALDPI/Pi Proj organization.

Pay: $62/hr - $68/hr

Work Schedule: 4x10 Schedule

Assignment Duration: Up to 3 years with possibility of extension/conversion

Work Environment: On-site, secure area with unescorted and A-Level access required

Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance required

Mandatory Experience Requirement – Read Before Applying

Candidates must have the following experience to be considered:

  • Direct Radiation Protection (RP) experience
  • Experience supporting operations within a DOE Plutonium Facility

Applications lacking these required areas of experience will not be considered.

Impact

The OSS 4 will provide critical Radiation Protection and work planning support for complex operations within DOE plutonium facilities s role supports high-hazard nuclear operations by ensuring safe and compliant execution of design, construction, startup, operations, and maintenance activities. The selected candidate will collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to support mission‑critical national security objectives while maintaining the highest standards of radiological safety and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

and Duties
  • Support design, construction, startup, operations, and maintenance activities for complex high‑hazard systems and projects
  • Provide Radiation Protection expertise and technical recommendations to project design, work control, and construction teams
  • Perform independent reviews and assessments in areas of specialized Radiation Protection expertise
  • Interface with management personnel, project teams, and customer representatives
  • Develop and enforce work standards and ensure compliance with applicable procedures and requirements
  • Coordinate with functional organizations and support project execution activities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams and senior personnel

    Support work planning activities within DOE Category 2 nuclear facilities
  • Communicate effectively through oral and written formats with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support long‑term travel assignments as required
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of directly applicable experience in Radiation Protection and/or work planning within a DOE Category 2 nuclear facility
  • Experience supporting DOE plutonium facility operations
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted and A-Level access
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work full‑time on‑site in a secure environment
