Overview
The Radiation Transport Applications Group (XTD‑RTA) of Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) supports intrinsic radiation calculations for various DOE missions. We seek postdoctoral researchers with a background in nuclear engineering, health physics, or a related field, and proficiency in MCNP or similar.
ResponsibilitiesAs a postdoctoral researcher, you will support intrinsic radiation calculations and contribute to modeling, simulation, and analysis of radiation transport issues for stockpile modernization, nuclear security, criticality safety, and weapon effects.
MinimumJob Requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency with MCNP.
- Scientific productivity and communication as evidenced by publications and presentations.
- Ability to function effectively in a team and exhibit professional conduct.
- Willingness to learn new skills and be flexible in work assignments.
- Knowledge of effects of radiation on electronics and/or materials.
- Experience in experimental design, data collection, and analysis, preferably in radiation detection and instrumentation.
- CAD and high‑performance computing (HPC) experience.
Onsite at Los Alamos, NM. The work location is at the discretion of management.
