Overview
Merrick & Company's Nuclear Services & Technology team provides full service nuclear design solutions to the federal government (DOE, NNSA and NIST), nuclear research, nuclear medicine, and the commercial nuclear power industries. Merrick is seeking a highly motivated, team oriented individual to serve as a Project Manager to support our operations in Los Alamos, NM. Merrick has some very exciting projects including design of specialty equipment for the National Nuclear Security Administration and Department of Energy.
With our success in winning large, complex, and exciting projects, we need a strong project manager accustomed to a regulated work environment with discipline, ingenuity, motivation and skills to lead a multi-discipline team of engineers and designers. Merrick is seeking candidates who have technical and project management experience with design and construction of nuclear/hazardous facility systems, structures and components with an emphasis on confinement of radioactive and other hazardous materials.
You'll Do
- Serve as a point of contact with the customer, developing project plans, establishing project cost estimates and schedules.
- Work under a well-established ASME NQA-1 quality assurance program.
- Direct or supervise engineering leads.
- Manage project resources.
- Execute projects per the project plans, manage change, and ensure technical adequacy of the project deliverables.
- Market for new work, propose on new efforts, and develop a network of clients.
- Focus on design of non-reactor nuclear facilities and nuclear containment and shielding equipment, including design of hot cells, glove boxes, specialty mechanical handling equipment and supporting nuclear facility systems, structures, and components.
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience in engineering or related field closely related to the types of projects to be managed.
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience in project management.
- Experience with nuclear quality assurance standards.
- Experience with supervising engineers and designers.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and scheduling software (e.g., MS Office, Primavera).
- Client projects require the ability to obtain and maintain a LANL uncleared badge.
- Client projects require U.S. citizenship.
- Experience with DOE or NNSA projects, SRS experience.
- Experience with NRC licensing requirements.
- Active Q-Clearance or ability to obtain Q-Clearance.
- Certifications:
- Professional Engineer licensure.
- PMI Certificate.
