What You Will Do
The successful candidate will work side‑by‑side with our highly skilled and experienced utility electrical engineers to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair utility‑class electrical infrastructure, including 115kV transmission and 15kV distribution circuits, transformers and switch gear.

Abilities:
- Capable of traversing open ground and irregular surfaces
- Ability to walk to outside locations
- Awareness to allow access to construction sites
Candidate will at minimum have graduated from high school and can demonstrate they have been accepted into an undergraduate electrical engineering program at an accredited university leading to a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
Undergraduate:
- Currently enrolled (12 semester credit hours or full‑time equivalent) in an accredited undergraduate degree‑granting program (or international equivalent)
- Must have and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
- Entering first‑year students must provide documentation indicating matriculation into an accredited undergraduate degree program

Qualifications:
Familiarity with utility electrical generation, transmission and/or distribution systems.
Onsite/Hybrid:
This position is located in Los Alamos, NM with the potential for a hybrid work arrangement (partially onsite/partially offsite) from a location within a 2‑hour ground commute of this location. Reporting onsite will be regularly required. Hybrid is at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice. Some interns may work a 9/80 schedule at the discretion of management and in accordance with the Student Programs Office guidebook.
