Position SummaryLeading Factors is seeking experienced Technical Project Managers to support complex nuclear and capital project initiatives within the Department of Energy (DOE) environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing technical scope, project deliverables, budgets, schedules, risks, and stakeholder coordination from project initiation through completion.
This position requires a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage project execution within regulated nuclear facilities, and ensure compliance with applicable DOE requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of assigned technical project scope.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, risks, and deliverables.
- Coordinate activities across project teams, support organizations, and matrixed resources.
- Support project planning, reporting, forecasting, and performance tracking.
- Facilitate issue resolution and decision-making to maintain project objectives.
- Ensure project activities are executed in accordance with applicable DOE requirements, quality standards, and safety expectations.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams and stakeholders.
- Participate in project reviews, readiness activities, testing, turnover, and closeout efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 12 years of relevant DOE nuclear project experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing project activities within DOE, NNSA, or NRC-regulated nuclear facilities.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical projects involving construction, facility modifications, testing, commissioning, turnover, or decommissioning activities.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting DOE capital asset projects under DOE Order 413.3B.
- Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience, including Control Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities or equivalent.
- Experience with project reviews and critical decision processes associated with major DOE projects.
- Knowledge of work control, hazard management, radiological operations, quality assurance, and nuclear safety requirements.
- Experience resolving complex technical, regulatory, and operational issues within a highly regulated environment.
- Previous experience supporting large DOE or NNSA projects.
