Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include physics, diagnostics, data acquisition, controls, timing, pulsed power, mechanical systems, and operations essential to DARHT’s accelerators. The group also conducts R&D to advance accelerator capabilities. In this role, the selected candidate will collaborate with a diverse team of scientists, engineers, technologists, and technicians on DARHT projects and programs, while receiving training on the specialized software and hardware used across both accelerators.
Qualifications- Control Systems: Familiarity with common electronic/electrical test equipment, knowledge of data acquisition systems, and application of creative problem‑solving.
- Programming: Experience with high‑level languages and control system software in Microsoft Windows environment.
- Engineering: Demonstrated knowledge in electrical engineering, electrical drawings, one‑line diagram, electrical circuits.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, ability to interact with all levels of personnel and customers, and experience with collaboration across organizational boundaries.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an ABET‑accredited institution within the last 3 years in Electrical Engineering.
- Academic Performance: Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).

Experience with electronics and typical laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes and DVMs.
Ability to speak, discriminate speech, hear in a normal range (500 to 3000 Hz), sit, stand, walk, type or keyboard, lift 5–10 pounds, carry 5–10 pounds.

On‑site in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management. The facility is located in beautiful northern New Mexico.
