Seeking an experienced Process Engineer to support manufacturing and production operations for complex technical systems. In this role, you will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and production equipment. You will work closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, and quality teams to improve efficiency, optimize production, and ensure operational readiness in a highly regulated environment. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex manufacturing challenges while mentoring junior engineers and driving process improvements.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes
- Evaluate and implement production equipment and tooling
- Develop process flows, work instructions, and manufacturing methods
- Improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and operational reliability
- Lead troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis for process and equipment issues
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
- Support equipment selection, installation, testing, and commissioning
- Develop technical documentation, procedures, and process specifications
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance, and quality teams
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
- Support project planning, scheduling, and execution
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: 8–10+ years of process or manufacturing engineering experience.
- Experience developing and optimizing manufacturing processes.
- Strong knowledge of production equipment, tooling, and equipment integration.
- Experience working in industrial or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing and process issues.
- Experience with continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience mentoring engineers and technical teams.
- Active DOE Q Clearance.
- Experience supporting DOE, NNSA, LANL, or other National Laboratory programs.
- Experience developing manufacturing processes in nuclear or high‑consequence environments.
- Experience supporting equipment qualification, commissioning, and operational readiness.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
Primarily an onsite position. Work performed in industrial, manufacturing, or other regulated operational facilities. Occasional overtime or extended work hours may be required to support production and operational needs.
