Tech2 Solutions (T2S), a Tetra Tech–Sealaska Joint Venture, is a critical subcontractor supporting N3B Los Alamos LLC under the Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Contract (LLCC). T2S provides program management and technical services in support of the Groundwater and Surface Water Monitoring Program at the U.S. Department of Energy's Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). T2S is a full-service engineering and environmental consulting company with worldwide expertise in environmental monitoring and remediation, national security, systems engineering, and data management and analytics for both federal and commercial clients.

T2S is adding an Environmental Professional (Surface Water Monitoring Team) to support stormwater and site-specific control measure monitoring activities required under the LANL NPDES Storm Water Individual Permit (NM0030759). This position also supports stormwater sampling and monitoring activities under the Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP).

The successful candidate will provide field support for NPDES permit compliance, stormwater monitoring, site inspections, sampling activities, and Best Management Practice (BMP) implementation while ensuring all work is performed safely and in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Essential Job Functions:

Surface Water Monitoring & Field Operations
  • Support stormwater monitoring activities required under the LANL NPDES Storm Water Individual Permit and Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP).
  • Collect stormwater samples and complete all required sampling documentation.
  • Install, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot automated stormwater sampling equipment.
  • Complete significant event inspections, post-storm inspections, and long-term stewardship inspections.
  • Perform site inspections and document field observations using required electronic forms and data collection systems.
  • Assist with stormwater corrective action development, BMP installation, inspections, and minor maintenance using hand tools.
  • Conduct field verifications and document completed work activities.
  • Evaluate site conditions for runoff, erosion, and sediment control concerns and recommend appropriate Best Management Practices (BMPs).
Project Coordination
  • Coordinate field activities with project leads, T2S staff, subcontractors, N3B personnel, and LANL representatives.
  • Support site access requests, data entry, report preparation, and project documentation.
  • Assist with field coordination among other N3B and LANL projects.
  • Conduct occasional field and documentation audits of subcontractor activities.
  • Support additional Water Program activities as assigned.
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Conduct all work in accordance with company procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Maintain required operational, environmental, safety, and security training.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and exercise stop-work authority whenever unsafe conditions exist.
  • Report health and safety observations, near misses, and incidents.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Hydrology, Geology, Biology, or another related technical discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
