The Plutonium Facilities Engineering (PFE) Division of Los Alamos National Laboratory develops, maintains, and applies a diverse set of engineering capabilities to provide innovative engineering solutions that enable the Laboratory's scientific and national security mission. Successful candidates will be performing work in a Nuclear Facility.
This internship provides mentoring, hands-on technical experience, and professional development opportunities through a formalized work plan complementing the student's engineering education.

* ** Minimum
Job Requirements:

* + Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor's degree program in any engineering discipline. Engineering degrees in greatest demand include Electrical, Nuclear, Mechanical and Fire Protection Engineering.
+ Enrolled in and successfully complete a minimum of 12 undergraduate credit hours per semester (or equivalent of full-time enrollment).
+ Have and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scale.

+ Pass a new employment drug test:
The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
** Essential Job Functions** (can perform with or without reasonable accommodation):
General Physical Mobility, standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending. Specific Physical Mobility use of both hands, use of both arms, use of both legs, use of both feet, carry/lift up to 20 pounds. Work Environments; work in a noisy environment, work near sources of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, work near machinery with moving parts, working overtime or an irregular schedule.

** The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
