Compa Industries is searching for qualified candidates for a Project Engineer 3 position at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in Los Alamos, NM.
Pay: $70/hr - $75/hr
Location:
100% Onsite – Los Alamos, NM (TA-55, installation support)
Citizenship: US Citizenship Required
Work Schedule:
Flexible (4/10s preferred; day/night/weekend shift options)
Clearance: DOE Q Clearance preferred, or ability to obtain

To be considered, candidates must meet the following three conditions:
- U.S. Citizenship and eligibility to obtain a DOE Q Clearance
- 6+ years of engineering experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- Must be willing to work 100% onsite at LANL – hybrid/remote not permitted
This position plays a vital role in supporting the safe and efficient execution of engineering solutions at the Plutonium Facility (PF-4). As part of the Project Engineering Group (PFE-PE), you will manage engineering deliverables, design reviews, and field execution to advance projects that safeguard the nation’s nuclear capabilities.
Responsibilities and Duties- Lead development of technical scopes and coordinate with customers
- Manage full design review lifecycle (30%/60%/90%) with internal/external SMEs
- Champion technical quality and compliance across all phases of project execution
- Oversee design deviations and change control processes
- Collect, review, and archive project documentation in accordance with LANL standards
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage multi-discipline coordination
- Strong understanding of engineering deliverables and lifecycle workflows
- Familiarity with DOE or DOD regulated environments
- Excellent verbal/written communication and project leadership skills
- Experience in design change management and document control
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience with tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and EVMS
- Familiarity with NQA-1, ASME, IEEE, NFPA, and other DOE-relevant codes
- Background in electrical systems, glovebox design, or high-consequence facilities
- Prior experience mentoring junior engineers
Required:
ABET-accredited Bachelor’s in Engineering + 6 years’ experience

Advanced degree and/or PE license
