UbiQD is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced, detail‑oriented Staff Accountant to provide support for our Finance and Administration Department. This position reports directly to the Company’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and involves general ledger oversight, bank account reconciliations, monthly state filings, and preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, a positive, can‑do attitude, and can communicate effectively with team members across the Company’s departments while maintaining a supportive and helpful workplace environment.
Job Requirements- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in accounting or a related field.
- At least three (3) years of work experience in a mid‑level accounting role with timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes.
- Experience supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll entries, and coding of revenue and expenses.
- Experience supporting financial audits.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with computer software, including Microsoft Office.
- Comfortable with routinely shifting demands.
- Residence in or re‑location to Los Alamos, NM (or surrounding areas, within 50 miles).
- Eligibility to work in the USA and over the age of 18.
- Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Knowledge and understanding of New Mexico tax law, including withholding, gross receipts, and compensating taxes.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles including GAAP, ability to prepare financial statements, and proficiency in accounting software such as Quick Books.
