Position: Network Professional 1
** What You Will Do*
* We are seeking a Network Professional 1 (NP-1) to join the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL)'s Special Security IT & Cyber Operations (SSO-3) team. In this role, you will support a complex accredited network providing Windows and Linux computing for multiple Strategic Intelligence Partnership Projects. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining networked systems, including configuration of network devices, supporting / troubleshooting network problems, and working with the Linux Team and Windows Team to ensure systems stay operational and mission-ready.

The role also requires close integration with Cybersecurity for process execution in compliance with security requirements.

Job Requirements:

* + Knowledge of requirements definition and design experience in enterprise TCP/IP networks

+ Knowledge of network protocols including routing protocols such as BGP, RIP, and ECMP

+ Proven track record working effectively in a team environment, including addressing interpersonal issues and interacting with customers and peers in a professional and responsive manner

+

Experience with triaging or assisting end users and helpdesk personnel troubleshoot issues related to networking

** Education and Experience Requirements** :
Position requires an Associate's Degree and 2 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Experience with Cisco hardware or COMSEC

Experience with systems hardening, including implementation of controls under NIST 800-53 and Security Technical Implementation Guidelines

** The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

** Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year or 2 years.
