CNC Machinist Class B

Title: Class B Machinist

Salary: $30 – $35 / hour

We're seeking a dependable and skilled Class B Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on machining experience, a solid understanding of CNC machining practices, and the ability to produce quality parts while following drawings, work instructions, and established manufacturing procedures.

• Setup & Operation: Set up and operate CNC and/or manual machining equipment with limited supervision.
• Manufacturing: Produce parts according to engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and job requirements.
• Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Tooling & Adjustments: Select and install appropriate tooling; make routine machine adjustments as necessary.
• Setup Verification: Verify tooling, offsets, and setup information before and during machining operations.
• In-Process Inspection: Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gauges, etc.) to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor machining operations to identify and correct issues with tooling, dimensions, surface finish, or machine performance.
• Documentation: Accurately complete Manufacturing and Inspection Travelers along with other required production documentation.
• Reporting: Report machining, drawing, tooling, or quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor or Quality Assurance personnel.
• Safety & Maintenance: Follow established quality, safety, and manufacturing procedures; maintain machines, tooling, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
• Collaboration: Work cooperatively with senior machinists, supervisors, Quality Assurance, and other production personnel.

• Experience: Previous experience working as a machinist or CNC machinist in a manufacturing environment.

  Proven experience setting up and operating CNC machining equipment; ability to perform routine machine setups with limited supervision.
• Drawing & GD&T: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, dimensional tolerances, and basic GD&T requirements.
• Tooling & Machining Knowledge: Working knowledge of machining practices, cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and basic tooling selection.
• Quality & Precision: Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment with strong attention to detail.
• Work Ethic: Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions, with dependable attendance and teamwork skills.

• Hands‑on experience with CNC lathes, CNC mills, multi-axis equipment, and precision machining.
• Experience working in a controlled manufacturing environment where documentation, traceability, inspection, and customer‑specific quality requirements are emphasized.

The ideal Class B Machinist has a solid foundation in machining and is capable of completing routine setups and machining operations with limited supervision. This individual should be comfortable reading drawings, using precision measuring equipment, making necessary machining adjustments, and verifying that their work meets established requirements.

We are looking for someone who is also eager to learn more advanced setups, machining techniques, programming, and troubleshooting while working alongside more experienced machinists.
