Travel Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery

Overview

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing seeks a travel RN in Labor & Delivery for a 13‑week assignment in Los Alamos, New Mexico. The assignment begins ASAP, involves 12‑hour night shifts and requires 36 hours per week.

• One year of recent experience as a Labor & Delivery RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification
• Preferred: AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification
• Preferred: STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA/ARC)

• Communicate labor & delivery procedures to patients and families
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examinations
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment & stabilization of mother and newborn
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence‑based protocols
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
• Comply with all regulatory standards
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor & delivery nursing

• Critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Proficiency with PC skills and following written and verbal instructions
• Physical: remain in a stationary position, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, bend
• Interpersonal: work with a variety of personnel, maintain a positive attitude and professionalism
• Technical/Motor: fine manipulation, pushing/pulling, assisting with procedures
• Mental: cope with frequent contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work under supervision or independently, handle irregular activity schedules, maintain concentration to detail
• Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation). Tax‑free stipend amount will be determined.
