Position
Los Alamos Medical Center is part of Lifepoint Health, a healthcare delivery network. As a Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Informatics Specialist, you will bring your skills to a vital mission of making communities healthier. The role includes direct patient care, clinical informatics, leadership in Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation, and ensuring safety and compliance.
Responsibilities- Acts as super user for all areas of HMS Clinicals.
- Acts as Meaningful Use Coordinator, coordinating all reporting requirements.
- Acts as lead on clinical and other related software implementations.
- Acts as a resource and support to physicians and acts as trainer.
- Acts as a resource for all clinical software upgrades.
- Leads meaningful use initiatives and ensures compliance with all criteria.
- Works closely within the IT department to monitor the environment, technology and infrastructure to prevent medical errors and adverse events.
- Coordinates internal and external clinical developments for team members involved in design and selection of clinical application solutions.
- Demonstrates communication skills necessary to interact with persons of varying age and/or cultures.
- Participates in hospital and department quality activities as required.
- Recommends processes and workflows to achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Follows all HIPAA and confidentiality requirements to ensure patient and employee privacy.
- Full‑time schedule, days.
- Current state RN license (New Mexico or appropriate RN Compact Licensure).
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
- One year of clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge and experience working with Electronic Health Systems.
- Bloodborne Pathogens exposure required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.
- American Heart Association certifications required within 90 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six months or transfer into position.
