Document Configuration Management Quality Analyst ; Quality Assurance Analyst

W‑8, the Production Liaison Group, represents the Design Agency to the Nuclear Security Enterprise production plants and ensures that weapon production activities meet design requirements and intent. The role supports all aspects of quality assurance related to document configuration management for weapon production definition. The analyst will be filled at either the Quality Assurance Analyst level 2 or level 3, depending on the candidate’s skills.

The higher‑level assignment includes additional leadership responsibilities.

Quality Assurance Analyst 2: $80,400 – $127,900
Quality Assurance Analyst 3: $96,600 – $158,000

• Interact with system engineers to develop and manage documentation.
• Ensure all documents related to nuclear weapons programs are current, accurate, and complete.
• Operate independently and exercise initiative to complete assigned tasks.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including system engineers, physicists, technicians, and designers.
• Perform document review, formatting, and technical editing.
• Coordinate the formal release process for all weapon design definitions on both yellow and red networks.
• Align QA work with the Engineering Authorization Quality Assurance team.
• Assist the DCM team leader in updating procedures, training documents, and templates.
• For level 3: demonstrate expert‑level document processing skills, strong personal leadership, guide and motivate the DCM team, and support team member growth and development.

• Experience in QA processing documents, ensuring results, materials, processes, and final products meet quality‑specific specifications.
• Strong editorial review skills – proofreading, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and attention to detail in technical documents, diagrams, drawings, and parts lists.
• Experience with data‑management software, spreadsheets, word processing, and product data‑management tools.
• Experience managing classified and/or unclassified materials and electronic media.
• Experience with configuration management, quality control, data gathering and analysis, cause and corrective action, and process improvement activities.
• Personal leadership: collaborate with LANL management, integrate efforts between teams, direct stakeholders, and support multiple high‑level deliverables in a timely manner.
• Communication and teamwork: build strong stakeholder relations, adhere to security requirements, and demonstrate clear oral and written communication.
• Leadership experience: interact with large teams, technical staff, and diverse stakeholders to ensure high‑quality service.

• Advanced QA processing experience.
• Advanced experience with applications and processing of data management.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality and stakeholder focus; advanced level to interact successfully under pressure.

• Level 2:
  Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Level 3:
  Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination; postgraduate coursework may be desirable.

• Experience with the engineering authorization system, document management (e.g., EALink, Thing Worx, PDMLink).
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Project, and Visio.
• Extensive knowledge of configuration management.
• Experience managing classified materials and electronic media.
• Derivative Classifier (DC) experience.
• Active DOE Q‑Clearance and Sigma 15 authorization.

On‑site, Los Alamos, NM. All work locations at the discretion of management.

Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs. The position commitment is one year.
