Process Modeler Graduate Research Associate job at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Los Alamos, NM.
What You Will DoWe are seeking a Graduate Research Associate to join our multidisciplinary team to conduct research on the science and technology of desalination and separation processes. The aim of the project is to study the fundamental behavior of salt ions and other impurities in aqueous solutions, including the trace elements and hydrocarbons found in water co-produced with oil and gas. The current field of interest for the project is the physical, chemical, and electrical investigation of the behavior of dissolved ions and impurities in both high density, liquid-like, and low density, vapor-like, aqueous fluids at high temperatures and pressures.
The successful candidate will work closely with other experimental and theoretical/computational scientists and will have extensive opportunities to work in a wide range of areas and to innovate. Experience in process modeling, system designing, and optimization of different chemical and mechanical processes including desalination, water treatment, and other chemical separation processes will be considered important assets. Candidates with experience and keen interest in desalination science and technology are strongly encouraged to apply.
