** What You Will Do*
* The T-6:
Theoretical Biology and Biophysics group is seeking qualified candidates to hire as post-bac Students to work within our research teams.  This is an educational opportunity for the selected candidates to contribute to cutting-edge scientific research and to learn new skills and areas.  We are looking for candidates to join our team in Los Alamos National Laboratory's Theoretical Division (T-Division), in the T-6 group.

T-Division provides a unique and engaging environment that fosters multi-disciplinary collaborations to support the laboratory's strategic basic research and national security missions.

The Theoretical Biology and Biophysics (T-6) focuses on the modeling of biological systems ranging from macromolecules to populations and the analysis and the integration of heterogenous biological data. T-6 is the oldest theoretical biology group in the world devoted to mathematical modeling and computational analysis of problems in biology, medicine, and biosecurity.

** What You Need*
* ** Minimum

Job Requirements:

* + Bachelor's degree in in any Biology, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or other relevant STEM disciplines.

** Desired

Qualifications:

* + Familiarity with one or more standard scientific programing languages.

Experience with high-performance computing

+   Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students from diverse backgrounds and disciplines.

+   Strong critical thinking and data analytical skills.

* Work Location:

** The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

** No Clearance:
** Position does not require a security clearance.  Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.

** New-Employment Drug Test:
** The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.  Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use  was pre-offer.

** Internal Applicants:
** Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the required period of continuous service, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader.
