Seismology Postdoctoral Research Associate

** What You Will Do*
* The Environmental Sciences (EES) Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) has an opening for a postdoctoral research associate. The position will include analyzing continuous seismic waveforms for application to evolving crustal properties through time. The work will involve developing and testing state-of-the-art machine learning models. Experience in deep learning model development is necessary. The successful candidate will collaborate with scientists at LANL and with external academic partners.

The term of the appointment is two (2) years, with the option to extend to a third year depending on performance and funding availability. The position is on-site in Los Alamos, NM.

Job Requirements:

* + Research experience in deep learning model and applications in geophysics

+   Publication record including geophysics and deep learning applications

+   Proficiency in programing languages such as Python, C/C++   Experience using supercomputing and HPC resources

+     Communication skills as evidenced by oral presentations at conferences

+   Experience working on interdisciplinary teams

** Education/Experience*
* A Ph.D. degree in a STEM field related to geodesy, seismology, geophysics, applied mathematics, computer science, physics, or other related fields. For a postdoctoral appointment the candidate must have completed all Ph.D. requirements by commencement of the appointment or must be within five years of completion of the Ph.D.
