What You Will Do
This opportunity is intended for graduate students with interests in physics, applied mathematics, engineering, computer science, or related technical disciplines. Students will gain hands‑on experience in a multidisciplinary national laboratory environment while contributing to research that supports the Laboratory's national security mission.
What You NeedMinimum
Job Requirements:
- Demonstrated interest in computational science, physics, mathematics, engineering, or related STEM fields.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Interest in numerical modeling, simulation, scientific computing, or computational research.
Education Requirements:
Graduate Students:
Must be enrolled in an accredited graduate program in a STEM-related field.
- Coursework or project experience in computational physics, fluid dynamics, mechanics, applied mathematics, or computer science.
- Experience working in a laboratory, research, or team-based technical environment.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments or high-performance computing systems.
- Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and enthusiasm for scientific research.
The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
