Position: Immunology / Immune Engineering Post-Doctoral Research Associate
** What You Will Do*
* The Medical Countermeasures (MCM) Team in the Physical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy (C-PCS) group within Chemistry Division is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with expertise in immunology or immune engineering to support ongoing projects in diagnostics development and next-generation vaccine platforms. The successful candidate will lead experimental design and execution of in vitro immunological studies, contribute mechanistic insights into innate and adaptive immune responses, and help translate immune profiling data into actionable diagnostic and vaccine strategies.

The postdoc is expected to work independently while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams spanning chemistry, nanotechnology, bioengineering, and computational modeling.

The postdoc will act as a representative for the team by attending group and team meetings. They will be responsible for reporting research results back to the team at weekly meetings and keeping official laboratory notebooks. In addition, the postdoc will be encouraged to attend seminars that interest them and will be given networking opportunities within the laboratory. They will also be expected to present their work at conferences and to sponsors.

** What You Need*

Job Requirements:

*
* + Research areas of interest/focus in immunology, immune engineering, biomedical engineering, bioengineering, or related fields.

+  Demonstrated experience in immune cell (co)-culture, in vitro immunization assays, immunoassays, flow cytometry, protein analysis, transcriptomics, etc.

+  Demonstrated expertise in immune cell (macrophages, dendritic cells, T/B cells) biology, signaling pathways, cytokine profiling, etc.

+  Willingness to work with potentially hazardous biological materials.

+  Proven ability to work independently and successfully as part of a team.

+  Demonstrated experience and familiarity with good laboratory practices and experimental design.

+  Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.

+  Strong oral and written communication skills with a strong publication record.

+  Proven ability to manage time and see tasks to completion.

+  Proven ability to produce quality work by applying attention to detail.

+  Demonstrated competency with computers and software applications for word processing, data processing, statistical analysis, omics analysis, and data visualization.

** Desired

Qualifications:

** The ideal candidate would have interest and expertise in one or more of the following: immunology, immune assays, flow cytometry (multicolor panel design, optimization, analysis), RT-qPCR, RNA-seq, protein analysis, or host-pathogen interactions including immune signature profiling and biomarker identification. Candidates would ideally also be familiar with techniques such as Biosafety Level 2 best practices and procedures and/or mammalian tissue culture.

** Education
* * A Ph.D. from an accredited program in immunology, immune engineering, bioengineering, biomedical engineering, or related technical field completed within the past 3 years. Must have cumulative GPA of at least a 3.2 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
