What You Will Do

At Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), we solve national security challenges through simultaneous excellence! The Plutonium Capability Transuranic Waste Management group, Nuclear Process Infrastructure-6 (NPI-6) is looking for a highly motivated individual to serve as a Data Scientist to join our team. NPI-6 ensures safe, efficient, and compliant waste management generated at the TA-55 Plutonium Facility, the Chemistry and Metallurgy Research (CMR) building, the TA-50 Radioactive Liquid Waste Treatment Facility (RLWTF), and the Radiological Laboratory Utility Office Building (RLUOB).

Within this scope, the Data Team provides metric tracking, research and analysis, and custom software products to facilitate group operations. • Assist with collaborative projects to advance throughput of waste characterization.
• Take responsibility for understanding tasks and own contributions to deliverables.
• Set direction and goals for assigned tasks and manage your own assignments.
• Contribute to internal reports and presentations, build data pipelines, visualize data, and improve information flow processes.
