What You Will Do
The Physical and Chemical Spectroscopy Group in the Chemistry Division (C-PCS) is seeking an outstanding post-bachelors student with a STEM science degree to join our experimental efforts in spectroscopy of molecular systems. The C-PCS Group works with a diverse range of customers to execute research projects which span basic R&D and device creation through application and deployment of systems and methods for applied missions.
The prospective candidate will primarily be involved in designing, building, and maintaining field deployable systems, both liquid and gas types. This will require a combination of working with pressure systems, working with hand and machining tools, and building LABVIEW-based (or similar) programs to control the systems. The systems will need to monitor and save relevant data. Candidates will be expected to perform analysis on the collected data, contribute to a written report/presentation, and present on the data.
Lastly, they will be expected to deploy systems with the team in field tests both on and off site with the ability to make small alterations as the experiments proceed. #chemistry, #cpcs, #chem student
