Position: Operations Support Specialist 1
** What You Will Do*
* Support mission-critical operations that enable national security and scientific breakthroughs at the Laboratory. As part of the Radiation Instrumentation & Calibration (RIC) Program, you'll coordinate essential operations including:

+ Procurement and inventory management

+ Logistics, shipping, and receiving

+ Documentation and compliance

+ Process improvement initiatives

+ Customer service and administrative support

You'll work alongside technical staff and partner organizations in a collaborative, safety-focused environment where your organizational skills and problem-solving abilities directly impact operational excellence.

Experience:

** Position requires an Associate's Degree in a relevant field and two (2) years of relevant experience or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

* + Knowledge of Laboratory policies and procedures. Basic knowledge of requirement drivers such as DOE orders, and federal regulations.

+ Knowledge of Laboratory business and operations systems and standard software applications.

+ Familiarity with radiation detection instrumentation

+ Familiarity with Laboratory Radiation Protection Programs.

** Work Environment:
** Position may require working near sources of ionizing radiation and operation of motor vehicles.

** The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

** Position commitment:
** Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.
