What You Will Do

NPI-7 supports the safe, efficient, and compliant shipping of radioactive and hazardous materials across multiple LANL facilities. This is a fast-paced organization where you ll gain hands-on experience, learn new skills, and work in a supportive environment. As an Undergraduate Student (UGS) hire, you ll assist with multiple projects and collaborate with various teams to meet safety and mission requirements. This role requires adaptability, initiative, and a willingness to help wherever needed in support of LANL s national security mission.

• Clearance
  : Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance, and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required.
• Eligibility: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for more information.
• No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.
• DOE Orders: 426.2A and related policies apply to this position to ensure entry-level readiness for DOE Nuclear Facilities.
• New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a policy including random drug testing.
