What You Will Do
The Associate Laboratory Directorate for Environment, Safety, Health and Quality (ALDESHQ) is currently seeking recent graduates for challenging, paid post graduate internships at the post-master level. Our student internships provide mentoring, hands‑on technical experience, and professional development opportunities through a formalized work plan complementing the student's chosen area of study.

Job Requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy coupled with outstanding critical thinking skills.
- Capacity to work on multiple fast‑paced projects and deliver to deadlines.
- Experience working effectively as part of a team with a willingness to assist and support other team members as needed; also able to work independently.
- Proficient in the use of standard office software, such as Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills as demonstrated by experience in the preparation and formatting of correspondence, reports, and presentations.
- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills, organizational skills, and time management skills.
- Ability to uphold the Laboratory’s mission, vision, culture, and values.
- Must have earned a Master’s degree from an accredited institution (or international equivalent) within the last 3 years in an appropriate field.
- Must have graduated with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
Onsite:
This position is located in Los Alamos, NM. Some interns may work a 9/80 schedule at the discretion of management and in accordance with the Student Programs Office guidebook.
Due to federal restrictions contained in the current National Defense Authorization Act, citizens of the People's Republic of China, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Democratic People's Republic of North Korea, and the Russian Federation, who are not Lawful Permanent Residents (“green card” holders) are prohibited from accessing facilities that support the mission, functions, and operations of national security laboratories and nuclear weapons production facilities, which includes Los Alamos National Laboratory.

The position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre‑employment background checks.
