What You Will Do

The Weapons Mission Technology Group is seeking a motivated and innovative recent graduate looking for a challenging postgraduate internship at the post-baccalaureate level. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to projects that support the Laboratory's national security mission through technical analysis and software development. We will provide you with a mentor, a challenging project, and an opportunity to present your work and progress to colleagues.

What You Need
Minimum

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
  • Ability to work within a collaborative team environment.
  • Desire to learn new technologies and contribute to diverse technical projects.
Knowledge
  • Fundamental engineering design principles and practices.
  • Computer-aided design concepts and technical drawing standards.
  • Basic programming concepts and software development practices.
  • Engineering documentation and configuration control fundamentals.
  • Mathematics and analytical problem-solving techniques.
Skills
  • Programming experience in Java.
  • Experience developing scripts or applications using Python.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Abilities
  • Ability to learn new software tools and engineering processes quickly.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze technical problems and develop practical solutions.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team environment.

Education/

Experience:

BS/BA Degree from an accredited program in engineering, mathematics, computer science, physics, or related field completed within the past 3 years with a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.

Work Location

The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
