Senior Manager Site Reliability Engineering

As part of this role, you will be responsible for maintaining services in a FedRAMP compliant environment, therefore, must be a U.S. citizen. This position may also perform work that the U.S. government has specified can only be performed by a U.S. citizen on U.S. soil.

This role follows a hybrid work model, with in-office attendance expected once a week in San Francisco, Seattle, Austin or New York.

The Cisco Thousand Eyes FedRAMP team builds and operates our US Gov Cloud platform. This team is responsible for architecting, delivering, and maintaining our FedRAMP offering. Cisco Thousand Eyes is a Digital Experience Assurance platform that empowers organizations to deliver flawless digital experiences across every network - even the ones they don't own. As a Senior Manager Site Reliability Engineering, you will manage and inspire a high-performing team to drive the strategic vision for our critical infrastructure, with a specific focus on maintaining and expanding FedRAMP-compliant systems. You will oversee the architecture of secure, compliant operations, implementing rigorous standards for continuous monitoring, logging, and auditing across the entire platform. By collaborating closely with cross-functional product and security teams, you will integrate these complex controls into our infrastructure while proactively adapting to evolving security threats.

This role is exceptionally exciting because it places you at the intersection of high-scale SRE operations and government-grade security, allowing you to define the future of our platform's compliance posture. You will serve as the technical authority who bridges the gap between operational excellence and high-stakes security, ensuring our services remain both resilient and ready for the most demanding industry requirements.

• Bachelors + 12 years of related experience, or Masters + 8 years of related experience, or PhD + 5 years of related experience, or equivalent related work experience. Also requires 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• You have a total of 5+ years of experience building and supporting mission-critical services with a focus on automation, availability, and performance, and you have worked on large-scale distributed systems including multi-tiered architecture.
• Experience implementing security controls, vulnerability management, and incident response processes within regulatory frameworks such as FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, or SOC

• Formulated a team's technical strategy and roadmap; you've collaborated and partnered effectively with several other teams to execute on shared goals
• Must be a U.S. citizen as required to perform duties within a FedRAMP-compliant government environment.

• Experience building and/or operating FedRAMP environments.
• Strong understanding of the FedRAMP framework, its controls, and compliance requirements.
