CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER OPPORTUNITY AT LOS ALTOS GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB. Los Altos Golf & Country Club invites an accomplished and forward-thinking financial strategist to serve as its next Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This is a rare opportunity for a visionary and collaborative leader to guide one of Northern California’s premier private clubs into its next era of growth and innovation.

The CFO will bring strategic foresight and a deep understanding of long-range financial planning, helping shape the Club’s future through robust capital reserve management and forward-focused modeling.

This is an onsite, highly visible role within a vibrant, family-oriented culture that values engagement, accessibility, and teamwork. The ideal candidate will be approachable, confident, and able to balance strategic leadership with active, hands-on involvement in the Club’s financial operations. Supported by a strong Assistant Controller, the CFO will direct the overall financial vision while fostering excellence, accountability, and innovation across the department.

The role requires a technologically savvy, systems-literate leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings professionalism, clarity, and a forward-thinking mindset to every interaction—with the GM/COO, staff, department heads, members, and the Board.

The Los Altos Golf and Country Club boasts a rich history steeped in tradition and community spirit. Founded in 1923, the club has a serene setting with the Santa Cruz Mountain Coastal Range as a backdrop. The 18-hole, par-71 course underwent complete renovation in 2004. The club offers a championship golf course, a comprehensive racquets program, aquatics, wellness facilities, and social and dining experiences year-round.

Members pursue golf, tennis, pickleball, aquatics, and wellness, and enjoy the Clubhouse, Grill, Wine Cellar, and outdoor fire pits. The club serves a diverse, warm and welcoming membership and operates with a dedicated team focused on providing a premier experience.

The CFO is a hands-on, strategic partner to the GM/COO, the Board of Directors, and the Finance and Long-Range Planning Committees. This role leads financial oversight, capital planning, and strategic forecasting, with a focus on modernization, data-driven insights, and transparent communication. The CFO will implement technology and automation to enhance reporting clarity, speed, and accuracy, support committee relations, and foster cross-department collaboration with a culture of transparency, responsiveness, and member service.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive, approachable, and visionary leader who can balance mentoring staff, engaging with members, and leading high-level board discussions.

• Formulate, recommend, and implement accounting, auditing, budgeting, and financial control policies.
• Direct the preparation of financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) with analytics.
• Lead annual operating and capital budgeting in coordination with department heads and committees.
• Analyze budget variances, forecast performance, and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain all accounting functions (receivables, payables, payroll, reconciliations).
• Ensure GAAP compliance, tax regulations, and evolving financial standards.
• Manage internal audits and ensure adherence to club policies and regulatory expectations.
• Oversee federal, state, and local tax filings; ensure timely submissions.
• Safeguard assets through cash management, fund allocation, and investment oversight.
