Salary: $22.50 – $24.00 hourly

Shift: Day, 10‑hour shifts, 1 weekend day worked per week

We are looking for dynamic, customer service‑oriented Licensed Pharmacy Technicians to work in our veterinary hospital's pharmacy in Los Altos. Our current pharmacy team values individuals who are dependable, have a passion for their job, and have great initiative. While you will be working in a veterinary hospital environment, we operate very similarly to a retail pharmacy. You will not be expected to work hands‑on with animals.

However, we do require our team members to be comfortable around animals and medical procedures due to the exposure of delivering medications around our hospital.

Requirement:
Current pharmacy license in CA or within 6 months of getting your license.

Hours:

8 AM–9 PM, 7 days a week

Base Wage: $22.75–$24.75 per hour + applicable differentials.

  • Base wages are determined by your previous work history that is applicable to this position.
  • Differentials:
    Weekend $3/hr, PTCB Certified $1/hr.
Pharmacy Technician Responsibilities
  • Offer genuine client service at all times and maintain a professional, courteous, and helpful attitude.
  • Provide medication consultation on refills and new medications.
  • Work closely with veterinarians to process prescription refills and fill medications for out‑patient and in‑hospital patients (approximately 450 prescriptions a day).
  • Have a good knowledge of basic human drugs (brand names and generic names); training will be provided for animal‑specific medications.
  • Use basic computer skills to enter patient charts and medical notes into the computer record.
  • Receive multiple oral and written instructions and efficiently and accurately perform them in a timely manner.
  • Take phone calls regarding prescription refills and inquiries from clients, veterinary technicians, and outside pharmacies.
  • Comfortable around animals, clients, and medical procedures.
  • Deliver medications and prescription formula food to clients’ cars in our parking lot.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills and incredible attention to detail.
  • Maintain excellent teamwork and communication skills under stressful situations.
