Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-driven Staff Accountant to join our team in Los Angeles, California. As part of a non-profit organization, you will play a crucial role in managing financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity for growth within a mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

- Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, verifying the accuracy of transactions.

- Compile and analyze financial reports to provide insights into organizational performance.

- Ensure proper budget management by monitoring expenditures and providing recommendations.

- Handle non-profit-specific financial tasks, including compliance with tax laws and regulations.

- Utilize accounting software to streamline financial processes and maintain organized records.

- Collaborate with internal teams to address financial inquiries and resolve discrepancies.

- Assist in auditing processes and provide necessary documentation to support financial reviews.

- Identify areas for process improvement and implement efficient accounting practices.

- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail while handling sensitive financial data.

Requirements

- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Staff Accountant, preferably in a non-profit setting.

- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

- Experience in budget management and financial analysis.

- Familiarity with tax laws and regulations specific to non-profit organizations.

- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced mathematical skills.

- SAGE Intaact required

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
