Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Property Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $73,000 to $95,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform the month-end closing process and reconciliation to maintain financial integrity.
  • Prepare journal entries for accrued and prepaid expenses, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Review and post bank reconciliations while following up on all reconciling items.
  • Assist onsite property staff with accounting issues and processes within Yardi property management software.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a relevant field, with 5+ years of accounting experience in the property management industry.
  • Demonstrate solid knowledge of accrual accounting procedures and financial reporting.
  • Possess experience with property management software, preferably Yardi Voyager.
  • Show proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with moderate to advanced skills in data analysis and reporting.
  • Exhibit strong analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail in financial operations.
Qualifications:
  • Maintain excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in preparing financial statements for residential and commercial properties.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation, CAM billings, and real estate tax assessments.
  • Support the preparation of year-end tax workpaper schedules and reconciliations.
  • Adapt to special projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and strategic problem-solving.
