The Role

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Controller / Senior Accounting Manager / Accounting Manager to join our corporate accounting team. This position will own the day-to-day accounting operations and play a key role in driving accurate, timely financial closes for our multi-unit restaurant and hospitality business. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills combined with practical experience in the fast-paced world of hospitality, food & beverage (F&B), or consumer retail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage end-to-end accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, payroll oversight, cash management, and fixed assets.
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
  • Collaborate with operations, FP&A, and leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for restaurant performance.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support audits (external and internal) and tax preparation processes.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and implement best practices in a growing multi-location environment.
  • Mentor and develop junior accounting staff (as applicable, depending on seniority level).
  • Support future M&A and/or IPO initiatives through preparation of financial due diligence materials and other transaction-related accounting support.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA designation (or actively pursuing) strongly preferred.
  • 5–15+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong preference for candidates with corporate accounting experience in hospitality, food & beverage (F&B), restaurants, or consumer retail environments (multi-unit experience a big plus).
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, or similar ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of restaurant industry metrics, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition in hospitality.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with multiple priorities.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
