Aboutthe Role
The Senior Accountant will be accountable for supporting the overall financial plans and accounting practices of the Organization, including accounting, financial reporting, treasury, planning, risk management and tax compliance. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining appropriate internal controls and systems, public company reporting processes (including 10-K, 10-Q, etc.) and Sarbanes‑Oxley ("SOX") compliance. This position reports to the Associate Director, Finance and others throughout the organization, as well as with key external parties and advisors.
Responsibilities- Oversee all aspects of accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, etc.
- Prepare Board and management internal financial reporting packages, including analytical review.
- Prepare external financial statements in accordance with GAAP and SEC regulations, including 10‑Qs, 10‑Ks, and S‑3s.
- Responsible for supporting the planning function, including budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning.
- Act as primary liaison with external auditors; prepare and coordinate all appropriate material for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- Coordinate tax compliance, including overseeing the preparation of tax returns and other required tax filings.
- Other financial and administrative projects and responsibilities, as necessary.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant finance and accounting experience working for a larger company
- CPA is preferred
- Preference for Big 4 audit experience.
- Knowledgeable of PCAOB standards and current accounting pronouncements.
- Strong technical expertise in the areas of SEC reporting and financial accounting.
- Strong problem‑solving / analytical skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
