Position Title:
Accounting & Office Assistant

Location: Van Nuys, CA

Job Type: Full-time | In-person

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Pay: $19.00 – $22.00 per hour

Position Overview

Our client company is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting & Office Assistant to support our day-to-day accounting tasks and general back-office operations. This role will work closely with the accounting team and other departments to ensure smooth administrative and financial processes.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting Duties (Bookkeeping – Japanese/English Format)
  • Handle daily accounting operations including journal entries, payment processing, and A/R & A/P management
  • Maintain accounting records and prepare supporting documents and entries
  • Manage petty cash and process employee expenses
  • Assist with monthly closing procedures
  • Prepare and manage invoices
  • Correspond with IRS regarding tax matters
  • Provide support for corporate tax filings
General Back-Office Support
  • Assist sales team with documentation and coordination
  • Answer and direct phone calls professionally
  • Organize internal documents and maintain office filing systems
  • Light tidying and office supply management
  • Conduct online research and ad hoc administrative tasks
Qualifications
  • Fluent in Japanese (reading/writing) required
  • Experience with Quick Books is a strong plus
  • Accuracy, reliability, and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Prior experience in accounting or administrative work preferred
