Summary

The Accounting Service Desk Specialist supports the firm’s strategic initiatives by assessing, resolving, or referring all accounting and billing inquiries from billers, attorneys, and clients. This role requires high accuracy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.

Location

This position can be based in any US office and offers a hybrid work schedule. Working hours are 9:00AM – 5:30PM Pacific Time.

Responsibilities
  • Inquiry Management: assess, resolve, or refer accounting and billing inquiries from billers, attorneys, and clients promptly and accurately.
  • Communication: maintain clear and professional communication with all stakeholders, providing timely updates and accurate information about accounts, billing, and financial inquiries.
  • Documentation: accurately capture all actions, questions, and resolutions in the Service Now ticket system and email correspondence.
  • Problem‑Solving: identify and resolve issues using available information and resources; refer out of scope issues to the correct resolver group and research next steps to ensure excellent service.
  • Compliance: ensure all accounting practices comply with firm policies and relevant legal regulations, job duties performed accurately and efficiently with minimal errors while meeting SLA requirements.
  • Training: participate in training activities to achieve proficiency, supporting operations effectively and maintaining knowledge of accounting software and tools.
  • Continuous Improvement: increase expertise by learning and documenting new information and correcting personal knowledge gaps.
  • Customer Service & Trust: maintain professionalism in all interactions, treat clients with respect and confidentiality, build trust through transparency, reliability, and consistency, and identify opportunities to enhance user experience.

  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel (filters, pivot tables) and Word (headers, footers, numbering).
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.

Minimum Education

High School Diploma or GED. Preferred:
Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum Years of Experience

2 years of accounting or billing experience in a law or professional services organization (preferred). Experience with Aderant is required;
Chrome river or Kofax is preferred.

Physical Demands

Primarily sedentary work; occasional lifting up to 10pounds and/or frequent minimal force. Work involves extended periods of sitting.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly rate of $30.98–$40.00 depending on geographic location. Non‑exempt, overtime paid in accordance with applicable laws. Comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision insurance, and a 401(k) plan.
