Staff Accountant | Retail, Wholesale & Distribution

Overview

We are partnering with a growing consumer products organization that operates across manufacturing, wholesale, distribution, and retail channels to identify a Staff Accountant who is looking to take on a broad and impactful role within a dynamic accounting team.

This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working closely with operations and wants exposure across the full accounting cycle, including financial reporting, inventory, cost analysis, reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting accurate reporting and helping the company scale its accounting operations.

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy through account analysis, reconciliations, and research of discrepancies.
• Assist with preparation and review of financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP.
• Support inventory accounting activities, including inventory analysis, cost tracking, and variance investigation.
• Partner with manufacturing, operations, purchasing, sales, and supply chain teams to improve financial visibility and reporting.
• Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide insights to support operational and strategic decisions.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Support audit requests and contribute to improving internal controls and accounting processes.
• Participate in special projects focused on process improvements, reporting enhancements, and business growth initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting.
• Experience with in a manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, retail, or inventory-driven environment preferred.
• Understanding of inventory accounting and operational finance processes preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and experience using ERP/accounting systems.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
