Assistant Controller – Family Office/Business Management
Location: Century City, CA
As a member of CLA's CAAS practice, you will work directly 1:1 with clients to provide customized accounting services, supervising the accounting team on each engagement and delivering timely financial statements while implementing best practices.
Responsibilities- Perform Assistant Controller functions and manage them for your clients.
- Act as consultant and advisor on best accounting and finance practices.
- Provide project management by managing multiple clients and deadlines.
- Prepare and analyze client financial statements and make recommendations.
- Build opportunities for clients, communities, and people.
- Attend industry events and trainings to become a professional.
- Maintain knowledge of organizational policies, federal/state directives, and accounting standards.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; related experience may be considered.
- Experience: 4 years of accounting and/or financial experience required; public accounting preferred; family office experience highly preferred.
- Proficiency with accounting software and systems (Quick Books preferred).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook skills.
- Travel: Primarily in‑office at downtown Minneapolis with frequent local travel; occasional non‑local or overnight travel may be required.
- Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (FASB/SFAS) or other comprehensive basis of accounting.
- Strong organizational skills and goal orientation.
- Ability to handle pressure professionally.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Agillink system experience preferred.
- Clear, concise communication.
- Teamwork and appreciation of diverse contributions.
- Proven success in managing work and client relationships to exceed expectations.
Compensation: $93,000 - $157,000 (California)
