Build a Stronger AR Operation at a Growing Home Furnishings Company

Sagebrook Home is looking for a hands-on Accounts Receivable Supervisor who can lead people, improve processes, and keep cash moving. This is a visible leadership role for someone who enjoys balancing team management with day-to-day problem-solving in a fast-paced wholesale environment.

You will guide our on-site AR and collections team, oversee high-volume cash application and B2B collections, resolve deductions and retail chargebacks, and help provide accurate information for cash flow forecasting. The right candidate is organized, accountable, comfortable working across departments, and confident using Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

About Sagebrook Home

Sagebrook Home is a trend-forward leader in home décor and wholesale furnishings, serving retail and e-commerce partners nationwide. From our Los Angeles headquarters and showroom, our teams combine distinctive design, reliable service, and strong execution to support customers across multiple sales channels.

What You Will Own Lead the AR Team
  • Lead the daily workflow of the on-site AR and collections team, set priorities, and keep deadlines on track.
  • Review invoice generation, cash application, and account activity for accuracy and consistency.
  • Coach and train team members on credit policies, accounting procedures, and ERP updates.
  • Create accountability through clear expectations, follow-up, and performance feedback.
Cash Application and Reconciliation
  • Oversee the accurate application of ACH payments, wires, checks, and credit card receipts.
  • Coordinate reconciliation of major retail portals, big-box accounts, and e-commerce platforms.
  • Identify unapplied cash, short payments, and posting issues and drive them to resolution.
Collections and Account Health
  • Manage collection efforts for high-priority, past-due, and escalating wholesale accounts.
  • Review AR aging weekly, identify risk early, and help reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
  • Evaluate customer payment history and recommend appropriate credit limit or account changes.
  • Partner with sales and customer service to resolve disputes while protecting customer relationships.
Deductions and Chargebacks
  • Oversee research, documentation, and dispute resolution for chargebacks, shortages, penalties, and vendor compliance deductions.
  • Work with logistics, warehouse operations, sales, and customer service to address root causes and reduce repeat deductions.
  • Track open disputes and follow through until recovery or final resolution.
Month-End and Cash Flow Reporting
  • Support the month-end close of the AR sub-ledger and related reconciliations.
  • Track daily cash collections and provide timely, accurate data for cash flow forecasting.
  • Help improve reporting, controls, and processes as the business continues to grow.
What Success Looks Like
  • The AR team has clear priorities, strong follow-through, and accurate daily execution.
  • Cash is applied quickly and correctly, with fewer unresolved posting issues.
  • Past-due balances, deductions, and chargebacks are actively managed and documented.
  • Leadership receives dependable aging, collection, and cash flow information.
  • Recurring problems are identified and corrected instead of repeatedly worked around.
What You Bring
  • 4+ years of accounts receivable experience, including 1-2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Hands-on experience managing AR aging, collections, cash application, and collection metrics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) is required.
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data manipulation.
  • Experience in wholesale distribution, consumer goods, retail, or e-commerce is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting major retail or e-commerce accounts, including TJMaxx or Wayfair, is a plus.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, judgment, and follow-through.
Why Join Sagebrook Home
  • Competitive base salary of $70,000-$80,000.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching.
  • Paid time off and company holidays.
  • A leadership role with meaningful ownership and visibility.
  • A modern, creative workplace at our Los Angeles headquarters.
