Tax Senior - Los Angeles / Irvine / Woodland Hills

Location:

Los Angeles / Irvine / Woodland Hills, CA

Employment:
Full-Time | Hybrid / Remote Flexibility

Level: Tax Senior

An opportunity to grow quickly, earn well, and have a life outside of work.

We're working with a well-established, Partner-led public accounting firm that has built a strong reputation for client service, technical expertise and developing talent from within.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Tax Senior who wants the technical exposure and career progression of public accounting without sacrificing flexibility and work-life balance.

Why consider this opportunity? Fast career progression

The firm places a genuine emphasis on developing people internally. You'll have direct exposure to Partners and Directors, structured professional development and mentorship, with opportunities to take on increasing responsibility and progress your career quickly.

Partner-led environment

You'll work closely with experienced Partners and senior leadership rather than being lost in a large corporate hierarchy. The firm emphasizes personal development, client relationships and giving talented professionals opportunities to grow.

Private-equity free ownership structure

The firm is not backed by private equity, allowing it to remain focused on its clients, people and long-term growth rather than operating under external PE ownership pressures.

Strong financial upside

This is an hourly, non-exempt position, meaning eligible overtime is paid at 1.5x your hourly rate. During peak periods, this can create meaningful additional earning potential on top of your base compensation.

Flexible working model

The firm has embraced a modern approach to work, with remote flexibility and a "work where you are" philosophy. Its workforce operates remotely across multiple U.S. states, while the role itself offers a hybrid working environment.

Work-life balance matters

Unlike many public accounting environments, the firm actively promotes flexibility in working hours and encourages employees to use their time off. Employees highlight the supportive culture, flexibility and respect for personal commitments as meaningful differentiators.

The Role

As a Tax Senior, you will:

  • Prepare and review complex tax returns and related filings.
  • Perform diversified tax, accounting and audit-related assignments.
  • Identify and communicate tax planning opportunities to Managers and Partners.
  • Prepare client correspondence and management letter comments.
  • Supervise and develop staff accountants and assistants.
  • Review work and provide guidance and feedback to junior team members.
  • Work directly with Managers and Partners across a diverse client base.
  • Continue developing your technical knowledge through ongoing professional education.
What we're looking for
  • 3-5+ years of public accounting experience, with progressive responsibility.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • CPA license or actively working toward obtaining the CPA.
  • Strong tax knowledge and experience handling increasingly complex assignments.
  • Ability to supervise, mentor and review the work of junior professionals.
  • Strong communication and client-service skills.
The Bottom Line

If you're a Tax Senior who wants to earn more during busy periods, work with experienced Partners, progress quickly, maintain flexibility and build your career in a firm that values its people, this could be an excellent next step.
