Accounting Specialist​/Legal

Job Summary

We are seeking an Accounting Specialist with Law office experience for a direct hire opportunity with a professional legal services organization in Downtown Los Angeles. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with 3 to 5 years of experience who enjoys a hands-on, team-oriented environment and wants exposure to multiple areas of law firm accounting. The Accounting Specialist/Legal will support billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, trust accounting, general ledger activity, collections support, and month-end reporting.

Approximately 50% of the role is focused on high-volume billing, making accuracy, follow-through, and strong attention to detail essential. This is a fully in-office position with a collaborative accounting team that relies on one another to meet deadlines and maintain strong financial operations.

• Prepare prebills and final invoices according to attorney instructions, client billing guidelines, and firm procedures.
• Edit time entries, revise billing narratives, post client payments, and apply funds accurately to client matters.
• Process vendor invoices, check requests, electronic payments, expense reimbursements, and related approval routing.
• Support accounts receivable monitoring, collections follow-up, vendor reconciliations, and discrepancy resolution.
• Assist with trust/IOLTA account deposits, disbursements, reconciliations, client trust ledgers, and compliance requirements.
• Support general ledger entries, month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, audits, tax preparation, and special projects.

• Salary range: $82,000 to $90,000 per year.
