About the RoleOur client is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join their accounting and finance team. This individual will play a critical role in cost accounting, financial reporting, month-end close activities, and operational analysis across the business.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, enjoy partnering with cross-functional teams, and have a strong foundation in cost accounting and financial analysis. Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Manufacturing accounting experience required
- 3+ years of cost accounting experience
- Experience working with manufacturing ERP systems
- Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with account reconciliations and month-end close
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across departments
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Support month-end close and financial reporting processes
- Perform account reconciliations and maintain general ledger accuracy
- Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and operational performance metrics
- Review job costing and investigate cost variances
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
- Manage fixed asset accounting and monthly bank reconciliations
- Support accounts receivable activities, including billings, collections, and aging analysis
- Process credit applications and maintain customer account records
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting efforts
- Partner with operations, sales, and leadership teams to support business decisions
- Participate in cycle counts, physical inventories, and internal audits
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting operations and reporting accuracy
