We are seeking an experienced Tax Preparer/Accountant to join our growing public accounting firm in Canoga Park. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional who enjoys direct client interaction, technical tax work, and being part of a collaborative team-oriented environment.

From day one, you'll work closely with clients, manage a diverse portfolio of tax engagements, and contribute to strategic tax planning initiatives. If you take pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work and enjoy building long-term client relationships, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review Federal and state income tax returns for:
  • Individuals
  • Partnerships
  • S Corporations
  • C Corporations
  • Manage multi-state tax compliance and filings.
  • Research and analyze complex tax issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Communicate directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and resolve tax-related matters.
  • Respond to IRS and state tax notices and assist clients with tax compliance issues.
  • Review financial statements and bookkeeping records in support of tax engagements.
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities and provide proactive tax planning recommendations.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership on complex engagements and special tax projects.
  • Manage engagements from planning through completion while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Active CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) license preferred.
  • Valid PTIN required.
  • Recent public accounting tax experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Federal and California tax laws and regulations.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing individual, partnership, S corporation, and corporate tax returns.
  • Experience handling multi-state tax filings and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a client-service mindset.
  • Experience with Pro Series and Quick Books is preferred.
