Brown White & Osborn LLP is a 20-attorney California civil litigation firm. Our practice includes employment, probate, trials, real estate and title insurance, business disputes, and government enforcement matters. We treat support staff as professionals, andthe person who runs billing has real ownership of the function.
About the position.We moved our billing and timekeeping onto Clio and are hiring a full-time Clio Billing Specialist to help run it. If you haven't worked with Clio Billing, don't apply. If you haven't worked in a law firm, don't apply.
Responsibilities- Own the monthly billing cycle in Clio end-to-end
- Review and audit time entries for accuracy, narrative quality, and compliance with client billing guidelines
- Chase down unposted time and keep the firm on a predictable billing calendar
- Prepare prebills, incorporate attorney revisions, and issue final invoices
- Manage client trust accounting, including deposits, applications to invoices, and monthly three-way reconciliation
- Monitor accounts receivable and drive collections follow-up
- Build and maintain reporting on billable hours, realization, and collections for firm leadership
- Serve as the firm's internal resource on Clio billing functionality
- Previously worked at a law firm using Clio for billing.
- Understanding of California client trust account rules and reconciliation practices
- Advanced Excel skills
Compensation and benefits: $60,000 to $100,000+, commensurate with experience. Health insurance, paid time off, 401(k), and a firm that will pay for your Clio certification and continuing education.
