About the RolePay : $20-30/hour
BLVD Electric Inc. is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Construction Accountant to support project accounting, payroll coordination, reconciliations, and financial reporting. This role works closely with leadership, project managers, and office teams to maintain accurate financial records, meet accounting deadlines, and support multiple active construction projects.
Responsibilities- Handle project closeout accounting, final billing, retention collection, and reconciliation of outstanding commitments
- Review payroll information, including employee hours, wage rates, reimbursements, and project allocations
- Assist with certified payroll, prevailing-wage documentation, and labor-compliance reporting when applicable
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, vendor accounts, and general-ledger balances
- Prepare journal entries and support month-end and year-end closing, financial reports, audits, and tax documentation
- Maintain organized billing logs, collection reports, and project financial records while protecting confidential information
- Communicate with project teams, vendors, and general contractors regarding payments, discrepancies, and supporting documentation
- Help improve accounting procedures, reporting accuracy, and financial controls
- Previous accounting, bookkeeping, or project accounting experience; construction or electrical-contractor experience strongly preferred
- Understanding of job costing, construction billing, retention, change orders, and accounts payable and receivable
- Knowledge of lien releases and preliminary notices; AIA billing and certified payroll experience preferred
- Proficiency with Excel;
Quick Books and construction-accounting software experience strongly preferred - Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Accounting-related degree preferred but not required; bilingual English and Spanish a plus
