Staff Accountant

Los Angeles , CA Contract To Hire Accounting $37.5/HR to $40.87/HR 09/15/2026

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Staff Accountant to jointheir team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $37.00 to $40.00 per hour.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist with month end, quarter end, and year end close activities, including financial statement preparation and analysis.
  • Manage accounting and reporting responsibilities for grants, special funding sources, and other assigned programs.
  • Support audit preparation, regulatory reporting, budgeting activities, and financial compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with departments across the organization to provide financial guidance, reporting support, and process improvements.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting or finance experience, preferably within a nonprofit or grant funded environment.
  • Previous experience with general ledger accounting, financial reporting, budget monitoring, and account analysis.
  • Knowledge of grant accounting, fund accounting, and compliance requirements associated with government or restricted funding sources.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and accounting software applications.
Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Prior experience managing complex budgets, cost allocations, multiple locations, departments, projects, or funding sources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and departments.
  • Ability to handle confidential information, work independently, and prioritize multiple responsibilities under deadlines.
  • Dependable and professional team player with a commitment to accountability, continuous learning, and high quality financial stewardship.
