Work Schedule: Four Day Work Week:
Two (2) days in office, two (2) days remote. However, there may be certain circumstances, like pressing deadlines or peak business periods, where it becomes necessary for the organization to temporarily switch to a five day work week.

for the Accounting Manager role. This posting is one of four listings for the same Accounting Manager opening — one for each of our CA offices (Oakland, Sacramento, LA, Riverside), and the role can be based at whichever office works best for the selected candidate.

As a member of the Finance Team, the Accounting Manager keeps Enviro Voters' finances accurate, timely, and transparent. This hands-on role owns the monthly close, grant tracking and reporting, and oversees the outsourced bookkeeping and payroll partners who support us today. The Accounting Manager works closely with the Finance Director and partners with department leads across our four offices, making sure the people running our programs have the numbers they need to make good decisions.

Own the monthly close and daily accounting operations

• Own the monthly close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and the close calendar
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, and keep invoices moving out and getting paid on time
• Oversee our outsourced bookkeeper's day to day work and serve as their primary point of contact
• Maintain accurate expense coding and documentation across all four offices
• Keep our accounting policies and procedure documentation current
• Support the transition of bookkeeping from outsourced to in house, and supervise the staff accountant once that role is filled
• Answer staff questions about expense reimbursement, escalating as needed
• Support year end filings, including 1099 forms

Track and report on grants

• Set up new grants in our accounting system with budgets, restrictions, and reporting deadlines
• Track spending against grant budgets and flag variances to the Finance Director and program leads early
• Manage restricted revenue recognition and release from restriction
