Role OverviewAccuretta, a Numera company, is a full-service Certified Public Accounting firm licensed in California, providing a broad range of accounting, tax, and advisory services to business owners, executives, and independent professionals. We are committed to delivering experienced, affordable, and personalized service to our clients.
Accuretta is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Tax to join its leadership team in Sherman Oaks, California, as part of Numera's broader CPA in Residence strategic initiative. This role is designed for a high-caliber tax professional who can combine deep technical expertise with client leadership, team development, business development, and practice management.
The successful candidate will work closely with the existing leadership team and, over approximately two years, progressively assume greater responsibility for the firm's clients, people, operations, and growth. The long-term objective is to develop this individual into a key successor and future practice leader, ultimately helping transition the practice from its current founder-led model to the next generation of leadership.
This is an ideal opportunity for a Senior Manager, Director, or experienced tax leader who is ready to move beyond traditional tax management and build toward Partner-level practice leadership and potential ownership.
Key Responsibilities Tax Leadership & Technical ExpertiseManage and oversee a diverse portfolio of tax clients, primarily small and mid-sized businesses and their owners.
Review and manage complex federal and state tax returns.
Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services.
Identify tax-saving opportunities and communicate recommendations clearly to clients.
Stay current on federal and state tax law changes and their impact on clients.
Serve as a trusted technical resource for the tax team and clients.
Maintain a high standard of accuracy, quality, and client service.
Client Relationship ManagementDevelop strong, long-term relationships with business owners and key client contacts.
Become a trusted advisor rather than simply a tax service provider.
Take ownership of key client relationships and progressively assume responsibility for the firm's client portfolio.
Lead client meetings and communicate complex tax and financial matters in a clear and practical manner.
Identify opportunities to expand services and deepen existing client relationships.
Lead, mentor, and develop tax professionals and accounting team members.
Establish clear expectations and promote accountability, quality, and continuous learning.
Review work and provide constructive coaching to team members.
Help build a strong leadership bench within the practice.
Partner with existing principals and managers to improve team structure, workflows, and productivity.
Practice ManagementBecome deeply familiar with Accuretta's clients, people, processes, economics, and operating model.
Take increasing ownership of day-to-day practice management.
Monitor workflow, deadlines, staffing, utilization, and client service levels.
Help improve processes and operating efficiencies.
Develop an understanding of the practice's revenue, margins, client concentration, and overall P&L.
Work with leadership to establish and execute strategic growth initiatives.
Business Development & GrowthParticipate actively in business development and networking within the Los Angeles market.
Develop referral relationships and new business opportunities.
Help grow the firm's book of business organically.
