Human Resources Administrative Assistant
Location: Van Nuys, CA
Pay Rate: $23–25/hour, based on experience
Employment Type: Contract with possibility of hire depending on performance
Position OverviewThe HR Administrative Assistant will provide comprehensive clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources team. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate employee records, coordinating onboarding efforts, and ensuring smooth day-to-day HR operations.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with onboarding and new hire paperwork, including preparing offer packets and entering employee data into HRIS
- Maintain and update personnel files, both electronic and paper, ensuring compliance and confidentiality
- Schedule interviews, coordinate calendars, and assist with recruiting logistics
- Support benefits administration by processing enrollment forms and responding to employee inquiries
- Track compliance items such as I-9 documentation, background checks, certifications, and training records
- Prepare employment verification letters and general HR correspondence
- Provide payroll support by collecting timesheets, updating employee information, and assisting with data entry
- Order office supplies and maintain inventory for the HR department
- Assist with organizing company events, meetings, and employee engagement activities
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and presentations for management
- Answer incoming calls and emails, directing inquiries to the appropriate department
- Perform general office duties such as filing, scanning, copying, and document organization
- Provide administrative support to leadership as needed
- 1–3 years of administrative experience, preferably in a Human Resources setting
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with HRIS systems is a plus
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
